Disturbing...not for the violence but the undercurrent running through it. An intelligent film that says a lot with subtlety. |

Richard Roxburgh, Frances O'Connor and Cate Blanchet in the main roles. Cate won the AFI for best supporting actress. A beautiful film about relationships, ones that really mean something to you and the people you end up with. |

This is a road trip that shifts time from past to present to unfold the story in a non linear fashion. It had a memorable soundtrack, beautiful images of Australia as they followed the Pacific Highway and it stood out from the usual period pieces of the time. I wish it were released on DVD but as it was never a box office 'hit' I doubt it will ever be. |

Clear blue skies, lovely landscapes, beautiful people, all filmed in sumptuous colour. Plus the toffee-nosed Englishman gets what's coming to him. Enough to cheer up anyone's day. |

This movie is very much in the vein of recent Aussie successes such as The Castle, and Muriel's Wedding - movies that take pride in the dry, wry, and laconic Aussie perspective on life. It had all the basic ingredients of a fun flick, charm, humour, good characters, bit of romance, and an interesting plot with a clever ending. |

Interesting story as it portrays the secrecy and cover-up of issues concerned with nuclear testing in Australia. |

It touches my heart and history; it connects the past with the present and allows us, as a nation, to move forward - if the critics will cease their chatter and let it heal us. This is the story I have been waiting to be told since I was a small child and experienced the divide between town and country, between one skin colour and another. |

Depicts recognizably Australian and rarely seen gay experiences and emotions; authentically moving, surprisingly beautiful. |

Satisfies all the senses and tears at your heart...features the most beautiful place in the world on the east coast of Tasmania, and the melancholy cello of Peter Sculthorpe. A bleak and sad story. |

Quirky, funny, touching, original and beautiful film. A great social study of the passengers on Whippet Tours. |

This gentle film is a warm but sad tale about an adolescent's first love, loss and reconciliation. Beautifully filmed, a good script and great cast, esp the two young leads, it is quite slow in the telling but well worth the time. |
