Crocodile Dundee 1986 Peter Faiman Showed the rest of the world the Aussie culture and landscape. 69
The Big Steal 1990 Nadia Tass Cool Australian film, Ben Mendelsohn, Claudia Karvan and Steve Bizley at his finest as a shinky car salesman ... and the Jag. It has some of Australia's best young (at the time) talent. It's hilarious, a lot of fun and very entertaining. It has Australia's quirky sense of humour written all over it. 21
The Odd Angry Shot 1979 Tom Jeffrey It is one of the great films depicting what many young men went through. 73
Bliss 1985 Ray Lawrence unique love story very cleverly done with a gret australian cast 18
Shine 1996 Scott Hicks Astonishing acting and story. 64
Kenny 2006 Clayton Jacobson 24
Picnic At Hanging Rock 1975 Peter Weir 101
The Dish 2000 Rob Sitch 86
Mad Max 1979 George Miller Mad Max will probably go down in history as the film that made Mel Gibson a star, but that would gloss over the film's many other virtues. A post-apocalyptic tale of good vs. evil, Mad Max features the title character, Max Rockatansky, in his job as an "Interceptor," a kind of cop struggling to maintain order in a world where the government has all but collapsed and ruthless biker thugs and warlords have made normal. 129
Romper Stomper 1992 Geoffrey Wright A very different view of life in Australia that I believe changed the way many people looked at themselves. 40
The Man From Snowy River 1982 George Miller Iconic, scenic, appeals to all ages, and set to a majestic musical score 104
Two Hands 1999 Gregor Jordan 41
Cosi 1996 Mark Joffe 21
A Town Like Alice 1981 David Stevens 25
The Year My Voice Broke 1987 John Duigan A moving portrayal of adolescent life in a small town in rural NSW in the 1960s. 33
